Mysterious as the Dark Side of the Moon!

¡Buenos Días! This week was pretty nice. My Spanish is coming along pretty well (at least until I go out into the field) and I have had so many experiences with the gift of tongues! It’s crazy how when you love the people you are teaching so much that your Spanish just flows. I pretty much don’t know what I’m saying at all sometimes, but I just know it’s right. You just gotta focus on loving the people and the spirit will guide you. Even if you are simply bearing your testimony in English. Just let the Holy Spirit guide! Side note, I turned 20 yesterday! It’s super crazy to me that I have been on this earth for 20 years! Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday messages I have read them and I love you all so much!! It’s crazy how when you are working so much you just forget about what’s going on. There were so many times that I forgot it was my birthday, but my district made sure I didn’t forget! They were so kind and got me some gifts, sang to me 5 times, and my mom sent me a package! It was just a superbien day! Saturday night we were talking about our own ghost stories, and I told my story about the night I slept in the Short’s Treehouse (alone) with the Fallen Angel. That Sunday morning a couple Elders from another district pranked us by entering our room before our alarm and they were covered in blankets, so they looked like “dark shadowy figures.” It was super funny because they were sitting over our beds, and they scared Elder York and Elder Hinckley super bad! Elder York kicked one off the bed and it was hilarious. We then looked over at the end of Elder Hinckley’s bed and saw a 7 foot tall “dark shadowy figure” and it looked insane! It was just one elder on another elder’s shoulders, but it was crazy! We have definitely grown close with the other guys in our casa and our devotionals are getting better because of our friendship, there have been some incredibly spiritual moments in our casa. Sunday was super cool! I got to say goodbye to some of the Latinos I have met through playing Volleyball! They are so down to earth, humble, and ready to serve their Lord. They have so much vigor and it is so inspiring! One elder I met was Elder Blanco, and he is from Tampico!! I made sure to grab a picture with him and got his information, so I will hopefully be able to show his mom if I ever meet her in the field. So yeah this week has been awesome, and I’m so very thankful for the people that have been put in my life here at the CCM. They have helped me progress in ways I have never thought possible for myself. And finally, I’m thankful to my God for this opportunity to serve him. ¡Hasta Luego! Elder Griffin P.S. if every one could write me letters over the weekend so I get them all on Monday I can beat one of the Hermanas by getting the most letters! She gets like 15 a week, it’s insane! So if you could help me set a record that would be awesome! Just go on the internet and look up “Missionary Package Mexico” and the letters should be free! Thanks guys! Pics: 1. Elder Blanco 2.
