To Ryan, From Your Elder Brother
Ryan, Ryan, Ryan,
¿Como estás mi hermano? Espero que tu estés siendo obediente.
It's kinda long but I beg that you please read everything.
Ryan I think about you, and everything you are doing at this time in your life, a lot. You are about a year and a half away from graduating High School and, I would hope, serving a mission. Ryan you are the oldest in the house right now, and that is a big responsibility. You are the physical example to our little sisters right now. I am trying to set my own example for you, and for them, by being here in Mexico, but you are physically there for them. And whether you like it or not, whether you're ready or not, you cannot shake this responsibility.
In this world there are so many things trying to pull our attention: phones, video games, girls, jobs etc. Ryan make sure that what has the majority of your attention is the family. Mom and Dad know so much, and they can see so much further than you, or I, can see at this point in time. Right now I can only see my mission. You can only see high school, and what happens socially there. But in reality Mom and Dad can pretty much see everything. They obviously can't see the future, they have a concept of how our decisions affect our future.
Ryan the decisions you are making right now are critical. Everything you do now depends on whether you become a "businessman", or a "garbage man". You need to focus on school, relationships with friends and family, and your own personal testimony. Don't end high school with regrets of neglect for your grades, family, or friends because you chose to focus on video games, girls, and other distractions. Especially don't end high school with a neglect for your baptismal covenants. Don't be a metaphorical "garbage man" at the end of your senior year.
Care for your covenants Ryan. Make sure you are worthy of the companionship of the Holy Spirit. If you have stuff to take care of, take care of it. If you have undesirable relationships to end, end them. Do the hard thing now so that you end up as the metaphorical "businessman". Do the hard thing now, so that your life is much easier in the future. Don't fall into the expectations of others.
Ryan I love you. Enjoy your youth right now because life is gonna get harder after high school. You have to do adult stuff. Obviously have fun playing video games and all that fun stuff, you need to relax as well. Just don't find yourself in bondage to distractions, expectations of people in school, and especially don't be in the bondage of Satan. He wants your soul.
I am telling you this now so that you can make changes now. Please make changes now. Keep being a good kid, and be pure. There's too much evil and sadness in this world! Don't let it drag you down too. :))
¡Te Amo!
Hunter
